PARIS FILM

I made this film of our school's choir tour to Paris for me, my friends and my teachers to look back upon and remember this special trip. Filled with montages, interviews and genuine laugh-out-loud moments, this film captures the atmosphere of Paris shows some of the best moments of the tour through my eyes.

Making this film was an extension of the style I have adopted before for the personal films I have made of my summer and christmas holidays: a part documentary, part follow-me-around film. I tried to avoid making it look like a vlog, as I aimed to compose as many shots as possible and frame them well. This was quite difficult at times as it was a fast-paced trip, we were constantly moving around and visiting different places, so I had to work around what other people were doing. Other than some of the music, I didn't plan anything ahead of time as it was impossible to do so; the nature of shooting in this way is that nothing happens twice, so if you don't catch a specific moment in time, it won't happen again. It taught me to deal with unpredictability, react to the environment around me quickly, and, as I can't spend ten minutes composing a shot, try not to be too hard on myself and embrace the imperfection; this is what made it feel so genuine.

You can watch the film below. It is split in two parts: two watch the second, scroll down.
